ReEstablish Richmond values collaboration and partnership.

We believe that working together is better than working alone and cooperating with local organizations and individual volunteers can help make Richmond a better, more welcoming place for everyone.

We are committed to building partnerships across the community, supporting one another’s efforts and increasing the chances of our clients’ success.

ReEstablish Richmond values gifts of time as well as money. If you are interested in donating your time, passion, and talents by volunteering, you can learn more about opportunities, here.


ReEstablish Richmond is an approved non-profit organization for the Virginia Neighborhood Assistance Program (NAP).

For a minimum gift of $500, an individual donor may be eligible to receive a 65% tax credit against their Virginia state income tax. The maximum allowable individual gift is $125,000. For businesses: $616 is the minimum donation eligible for tax credits in their taxable year. There is no maximum donation limitation for businesses.

Another easy way to donate is through your employer! Check with the HR department to learn if your company has a matching gift program.

A note regarding donated items:

As much as we appreciate the kindness and generosity of community members wishing to donate gently used furniture, clothing, or small household items to our resettled neighbors, ReEstablish Richmond does not have the storage capacity to accept these donations.

Items we will accept:

  • Gift Cards
  • Cars that have passed current state inspection
  • Gently used car seats that have been thoroughly cleaned (As of NOVEMBER 2022 -We have met our quota for accepting car seats)
  • Books in Arabic, Dari, English, Farsi, French, Nepali, and Swahili

Putting our values into action, here are some examples of why Together is Better, especially for newcomers:

  • Together, with ICNA Relief, ReEstablish Richmond facilitates a weekly Afghan Women's Wellness Group and connects newcomers to a culturally sensitive food and personal hygiene pantry.
  • Together, with the International Rescue Committee, ReEstablish Richmond provides immigration support to Afghan Parolees seeking Temporary Protection Status (TPS).
  • Together, with the Richmond City Health District and Henrico Health Department, ReEstablish Richmond equips local immigrant organizations with the funding and tools necessary to educate their community about COVID-19 and the COVID vaccine.
  • Together, with our partners at A-Metropolitan Driving School, Paragon Driving School, and Henrico County DSS, ReEstablish Richmond ensures that newcomers have the practical support needed to become safe, confident drivers.
  • Together, with our volunteers and partners at Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, ReEstablish Richmond provides training for women who want to learn or improve their sewing skills through our Heela Sewing Course.
  • Together, with our 195 active volunteers, ReEstablish Richmond empowers newcomer adults and youth through English tutoring sessions, citizenship lessons, mentorship matches, personal finance seminars, connections to employment and professional development opportunities, and friendship.

Together, with your support, we can continue to build a community where newcomers experience welcome, connection, and accessible opportunities to pursue their goals.
