RAIVS 2026: Welcome in Action
Join us at the 8th annual Refugee and Immigrant Volunteer Summit!
The annual Refugee and Immigrant Volunteer Summit brings together volunteers and leaders from service providers, civic groups, and faith communities who work alongside refugees and immigrants in the greater Richmond area to inform, encourage, and build capacity.
This year’s theme, “Welcome in Action – Moving Welcome from a Concept into Action,” explores how the idea of “welcome” can be transformed from words into meaningful practice across different sectors of life.
This event will take place over the course of TWO days at TWO different locations! One and two day ticket options available.
Friday, February 20st, 2026 at University of Richmond's Jepson Alumni Center
- Event Check-in starts at 8:00 and event runs 8:45-4:30
- Friday Ticket Includes:
- A day of practical workshops led by field experts across an array of subject areas + later access to session recordings
- Opportunities to engage and network with community partners and newcomer communities
- Morning coffee + pastry and lunch
Saturday, February 21st, 2026, At Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens
- Event Check-in starts at 9:00, event runs 9:45--1:00
- Saturday Ticket includes:
- Morning coffee + pastry and lunch
- 3 Keynote Speakers + Panel Discussion- featuring industry professionals reflecting on Welcome in Action
- Opportunities to engage and network with community partners and newcomer communities
- Morning coffee + pastry and lunch
- Access to Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens for the full day.
Pre-Registration Ends on Thursday, February 19th at 5PM. Day-of Registration will be available onsite.

Friday sessions will be recorded + shared with all participants unless stated otherwise. We are proud that this event supports the work of Ethnic Based Community Organizations. A portion of event proceeds will be donated to strengthen their work in the community.
