Rooted in Resilience
Your Support Helps Self-Sufficiency Grow
What does Resilience look like?
Resilience looks like a mother practicing English after putting her kids to bed, a volunteer using a lunch break to drive a newcomer to class, and a new hire starting a first day of work in a new country. Your support helps ensure these moments are possible.
Across the United States, newcomer families are working toward stability even as federal funding cuts shrink essential services nationwide. Here in Richmond, referrals to ReEstablish Richmond have more than tripled since 2020, especially for English classes and for our Transportation Independence program. As part of a resilient community of clients, staff, volunteers, partners, and neighbors, we are meeting this moment and keeping pathways open when it matters most.
The impact of your generosity comes through in the voices of those we serve. One client shared how our English instruction and employment navigation helped her build stability.
She wrote, “I am happy that I was introduced to you and your successful team,” and added, “I hope that the ReEstablish Richmond team will continue their activities permanently so that everyone can benefit.”
Her words reflect the broader impact of your support. Last year, we supported 393 clients, helped 152 people earn driving credentials, and kept 87% attendance in group classes by removing barriers such as transportation, childcare, and interpretation. Since our founding in 2010, our outreach and education efforts have engaged more than 50,000 community members across Richmond. Sustaining this work depends on supporters like you.
We need to raise $100,000 by year-end to meet rising demand and sustain the full range of supports newcomers rely on in Richmond. In a year when so many voices are asking, your support of ReEstablish Richmond ensures that the newest members of our community can access the resources to establish roots, build community, and become self-sufficient.
